the paradigm shift Part 1
Part 1. Our Current State: “Self”-Consciousness.
If you’ve been feeling a bit of subtle anxiety or perhaps even full-blown panic lately, I want you to know that you aren’t alone.
To me, it feels like we’re all trying to navigate a world that’s been flipped upside down, playing by a set of rules that don't seem to make much sense anymore. We live according to outdated guidelines created by the top 1% that are followed by the rest without question.
We’re existing in a state of “self”-consciousness defined by lifelong programming, shadowed by limiting beliefs of doubt, regret, and lack, always feeling as though we’re not enough. In this current reality, the “self” is the individuality that is valued only as part of a system that feeds the top, scams the middle, and leaves the rest behind. Authenticity is suppressed in favor of ego-driven living.
We’re living in the ultimate paradox: “self” - consciousness in a state of absolute conformity.
In this inverted reality, happiness is elusive. It exists only in a made-up future or misremembered past. All decisions are based on an “if this, then that” conditionality as we experience fleeting moments of joy, only to immediately grieve that the joy is gone.
We base our worth on how much we work and how little we rest, wearing our "busy-ness" with pride, as a badge of honor for how much we can produce and do. Even our vacations come with exhaustingly strict itineraries, leaving us needing a break from our break.
Our minds do everything—think, plan, emote, love, and experience—while pushing our bodies to the limit. Our hearts and intuition watch on the sidelines as the weary mind allows the ego to outsource its reasoning, decision-making, discerning, planning, and “connecting with others” to technology, keeping the whole human system fragmented, apathetic, and confused.
And when the overwhelm hits, we’re offered quick-fix programs and problem solves by the exact same systems that create our stress. They don't heal us; they only mask the symptoms and keep us dependent, keep us “powering through”, and ultimately keep us in check.
What if there was nothing wrong to begin with, but instead we are programmed to think there’s something wrong? We’re too lazy, emotional, angry, apathetic, overweight, sick, sad, stressed, anxious, poor… and it’s our fault?! No. We’re just humans in need of a break. We need to get back to HUMANING.
The hard truth? Humanity is tired. The Earth is tired, and she is letting us know. We need an existential chilldown. This isn’t how we are designed to live. The water in the fire hose is down to a trickle, but the fire keeps surging as humanity continues its quiet suffering. How much longer are we going to pretend this is okay and that we’re okay, or that these nonsensical systems are still working for us?
What if radical societal change isn't just an ideal, but an urgent and absolute necessity? What if we don't need another external fix but simply need to take our power back? What if we need a chance to slow down, sit in stillness, unplug, and be loved? If the answer is yes, the odds are in our favor, but I think change needs to happen now.
Life is beautiful. It doesn’t require constant search for meaning. The authentic self does not live in a constant state of seeking, fixing, bargaining, or suffering. It only requires BEING.
Being only happens in presence. Everything else is an illusion.
So, where do we go from here?
